What treatment and medication alternatives are there for Seroquel?

This question was asked in Burbank, California on 05/30/2014.
I have had issues with insomnia for 20 years. I have tried almost many medications, including over-the-counter options. I am currently on Seroquel, but I do not want to take it anymore because of the side effects. What are some alternative treatments and medications that I might consider instead?

Prior to discontinuing the Seroquel you should speak with the prescribing physician. Without knowing your medical history and current medications, it is not possible to recommend an option. However, you might ask your physician about melatonin aside from the prescription alternatives.

There is a device that is FDA approved to treat insomnia that helps with anxiety and depression. It's called a stress control system. Go online and read about it; they are fairly inexpensive and can be prescribed by your physician. It really works for insomnia. It is natural and is non-pharmacological.
