What can I do about periodic limb movement disorder?

My husband tells me that I move around a lot in my sleep. I know I wake up a lot during the night and feel really tired during the day. Do I have periodic limb movement disorder? If so, what can I do to treat it? I want to be able to sleep through the night.

You very well could have periodic limb movement disorder. However, there are some finer details that need to be discussed. One is periodic limb movement disorder vs. restless leg syndrome. A common blood test may be performed, and a detailed history should be taken. Of course, if you have a sleep disorder, you should speak with your PCP or a board-certified sleep specialist. Good luck.
