I just got married a few months ago and my husband says that I wake him up with my snoring. I am always tired throughout the day and feel a little out of breath when I awaken. I also often wake myself up snoring or choking. Is there a way to check if I have sleep apnea without going to my PCP? What are some home remedies I can try to relieve these symptoms?

There are various over the counter oral devices for snoring. For sleep apnea you really should be seen by a Sleep Professional and get tested/treated. Under-treatment is actually worse than no treatment.
That is a great question. Unfortunately, there are not any home remedies to relieve sleep apnea symptoms. But, the symptoms you describe certainly suggest you should see your PCP or a local Board Certified Sleep Specialist. Sleep Apnea left untreated can increase your health risks. Clearly you are experiencing symptoms from being tired and choking which do not allow you to experience optimal health.
