How will my hair piece affect my ability to undergo a sleep study?

This question was asked in Merrick, New York on 10/28/2014.
I have a permanent hair piece membrane base. I would like to undergo a split-night sleep study. However, can the electrodes still be used on my head considering my hair piece? What should I expect during the sleep study?

Your hairpiece should not affect your sleep study. In most circumstances, the electrodes placed on your head can be positioned slightly underneath your hairpiece, or at the margin (edge) of your hairpiece. The procedure should not disturb the hairpiece, so after clean-up in the morning, you will look as good as new!
