How will I be able to fall asleep for a sleep study when I have enough trouble sleeping at home?

I have tremendous difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. I would like to have a sleep study performed, but I have enough trouble sleeping in my own bed. How will I be able to fall asleep in a strange environment? How much of a problem is this for patients?

You can speak with your sleep disorder center and ask if they allow you to bring a sleep aid with you to your appointment or if they will provide you with one if they see that you can not go to sleep.

It can be an issue for some patients to get to sleep. Patients are often surprised at how much time we are able to capture of their sleep time when they are with us. This is something you would be able to discuss at your sleep consultation.
