How can a Bipap cause twitching?

This question was asked in Liberty, Kansas on 07/31/2013.
I just got a BiPAP and every time I use it, it makes my toes cramp and makes the muscles in my leg twitch. I can use it up to about 45 minutes but then I have to take it off. I can't fall asleep with it on. Once I turn off the BiPAP, it takes me around 30 min to stop twitching. How can a BiPAP cause twitching?

BiPAP therapy should not cause "twitching" of the leg muscles. It is conceivable that the mask you are using is triggering a reflex of a neural circuit resulting in the twitching. Try using different masks.

That is an usual question and I have never heard that compliant. I would suggest speaking with your board certified sleep specialist.
