I was just diagnosed with sleep apnea. I understand firsthand that sleep apnea affects your quality of sleep. What are the potential long term effects of sleep apnea? What treatment options provide sufferers the best quality of sleep?

CPAP produces the best quality of sleep. If your CPAP or bilevel are at the correct settings, then the sleep apnea should be well-controlled and that will offer you the best possible sleep. The long term effects of sleep apnea can be as follows: difficulty concentrating, memory problems, erectile dysfunction, heart failure, and difficulty in controlling diabetes and hypertension. This is not the entire list of secondary problems due to sleep apnea.
