Insomnia can be reversed and "cured". This is best done by making certain that transient insomnia is not left untreated and allowed to become chronic. Using a combination of medication and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) are often very effective. CBT includes programs such as biofeedback, relaxation therapy and imaging techniques. Often, there are simple "cures" such as eliminating the cause for insomnia. Examples include, lowering the bedroom temperature, relieving pain, anxiety and adhering to good sleep hygiene.

Yes it can through several methods including Sleep restriction, Stimulus control and Biofeedback techniques to reverse chronic insomnia. You can also practice better sleep hygiene by watching and reducing caffeine and alcohol intake, quit smoking if applicable, having regular bed times and rise times as well as stress reduction if this may be leading to mood disorders and comorbid insomnia.
